Solar Rays Progression
A snapshot of how Solar Rays scaled from a 3 person trade business to a 15 person team operating across the state in under a year. This case study shows how our work alone created consistent demand, removed uncertainty, and gave the business the confidence to hire, expand crews, and grow without relying on referrals or luck.
Starting Point
When Solar Rays partnered with us, they were a capable solar business with strong workmanship, but growth was inconsistent.
At the time, the business relied heavily on referrals and word of mouth. While jobs were coming in, demand was unpredictable and planning ahead felt impossible.
They were stuck in a position many trade businesses find themselves in: good at the work, but limited by unreliable lead flow.
Growth was capped. Hiring felt risky without certainty. The business could only confidently see one to two weeks ahead.
The Challenge
Without a consistent source of inbound enquiries, Solar Rays couldn’t control their workload or choose the right jobs.
Margins varied. Job quality varied. Capacity planning was reactive rather than intentional.
The issue wasn’t capability.
It was predictability.
Why clarity beats cleverness
A lot of early-stage teams overcomplicate things. They want to be memorable. Original. Different. But what people really want is clarity.
If someone lands on your site and can’t figure out what you do in five seconds, they won’t dig deeper. They’ll leave.
Good design strips things down to what matters. It helps people make decisions quickly and confidently.
Our Approach
The goal wasn’t quick spikes in work. It was to build a reliable engine that delivered steady demand at scale.
We focused on positioning Solar Rays as an established, in-demand operator while generating consistent inbound enquiries.
Our strategy included:
Meta ad campaigns built to drive high-intent enquiries
Creative that positioned Solar Rays as professional, established, and trusted
Messaging designed to attract serious customers and filter out low-quality leads
Social content and creative direction that built trust before first contact
Ongoing optimisation as capacity increased
Every decision was made with long-term reliability in mind, not short-term volume.
The Results
Within four months, enquiry volume exceeded capacity.
Solar Rays moved from reacting to work to controlling it.
As a result:
Monthly jobs increased from around 15 to 90–120+
The team scaled to 15 people
Multiple install crews were formed
Hiring became proactive instead of reactive
Revenue stabilised and grew month on month
